Windows XP on a Mac

Ever since Mac’s switched to intel processors the talk has been of getting Windows to dual boot on them. There is even a $16,000 reward for the first person to achieve it. And it may have just been won. Brilliant – now we can have the viruses, spyware and blue screens of death that I thought I had left behind.
Of course the positive side is that there is now no reason not to buy an Apple, with the beautiful Mac OSX for all your day to day tasks, and Windows for those other programmes/games you think you can’t live without.

Update 4th April. Wow – the big news today is that Apple have just released an official patch called Boot Camp. And they manage a nice little dig at windows at the same time…
“Macs use an ultra-modern industry standard technology called EFI to handle booting. Sadly, Windows XP, and even the upcoming Vista, are stuck in the 1980s with old-fashioned BIOS. But with Boot Camp, the Mac can operate smoothly in both centuries.”

  1. Now that you’ve been pipped at the post in the $13,000 prize for Windows on Mac you have another opportunity. Microsoft Vista on Mac. Give it a bash… the prize is $1 (yes, ‘one dollar’).
