Chris Sharma is technically the best rock climber in the world. Sadly he is also a bit dull. I wanted to offer to help him with his public speaking, but basically the problem was he had no idea what he wanted to say. The most passionate he got was about people dropping litter at the crags.
It was a shame because there was some really interesting stuff in there – it is just that he hadn’t realised.
1) When he completes one project has a serious experience of emptiness until he has a new project.
2) Despite the fact that he is highly privileged to do what he does he struggles to feel satisfaction in what he does.
3) He has found some peace by balancing his climbing with ordinary life – moving to Catalonia, buying a house, falling in love, getting a dog…
